I Am Whole!
Isaiah 1:5 Why should you be stricken any more? you will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. 6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.
Isaiah presents to us the condition of all human beings without Christ. He says the whole head is sick and heart faints, and the sickness being talked about here is that caused by sin. Jeremiah puts it in another way,"The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart,..The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:1,9. Our sins even blind us to see how deceitful and wicked our hearts are!
Isaiah continues to say that we carry wounds and sores that are still fresh or open. Now through our own experiences in life we sustain wounds in our life, and mostly we move with these unhealed wounds, some may have been caused by pipo we come into contact with,e.g some carry wounds of abuse, to make it worse this sometimes it happens within family circles, others it's wounds of rejection(neglect) by their parents( fathers especially), other it's wounds of unforgiveness, they carry grudges and it eats their life, the list is endless. And there are those wounds that we inflict upon ourselves. E.g pipo wound themselves through addictions, such as alcohol, drugs, pornography, fornication and here also the list is endless.
But thank God there is hope for everybody. Just because you've had wounds doesn't mean you ought to live with them now. There is a saying that," you don't have to be poor, even though you were born in a poor family."
There is hope in Jesus. To those who recognize that their hearts are deceitful above all things,Christ will come to their aid,coz It is only he who knows himself to be a sinner that Christ can save.,And he says to us,"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out, and you shall keep my judgments, and do them.(Ezekiel 36:26,27). And further Isaiah says about Jesus that "he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Through Jesus' death at Calvary, there is healing for every spiritual sickness for anyone who comes to the foot of that cross. Christ even teaches us to forgive those who have unworthy of our forgiveness as he forgave those who were crucifying him. In Christ, our wounds are healed. At one occasion, he said to a man who had been paralysed for 38years that rise up and walk and he walked. Boom he was healed. And he says to you today reader that rise up and walk, He has forgiven you and healed you. Go on live like a forgiven person. Believe it and it will be so. Jesus says What so ever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.
In a few words, just take all your burdens and the sins you so easily struggle with to Jesus! You will find peace and healing.
Amen. Amazing insight.
